Weddings

Naworth Castle is a magnificent venue in which to hold your wedding.

From 1994 - 2000, Naworth was one of the country's premier wedding venues, having hosted over 220 weddings. In 2002 it reverted to being a family home, therefore the opportunity for wedding use has been greatly scaled down.
We now cater for weddings from April - September.

Naworth offers two distinct types of wedding:
Civil Ceremonies:
Wedding ceremonies take place in our Great Hall (right) which can also accomodate your wedding reception, seating up to 200 guests. Drinks and canapes can be served. We would expect the ceremony and reception to last approximately 2 hours.

Large Scale Weddings:

Naworth is available for large scale wedding receptions. Our Great Hall comfortably seats 200 guests, and it is possible to erect a marquee to accomodate 300 + guests in our 17th century walled garden.(right) We have outstanding retained caterers.
We can co-ordinate marquee provision and all wine and bar requirements, (our bar is licensed until 11.30 pm.) Departure time is midnight.
Though we do not offer facilities within the castle, there are a wide range of hotels and B & Bs within 15 minutes drive. We can provide a list with directions.

As part of the celebrations, guests may gather for champagne in the courtyard, (left) or if the weather is poor, the bridal party may greet their guests in the Library.

For larger weddings we erect marquees in the walled garden. (right)

The smallest wedding consisted of two people and
the largest was for 350 guests.
Larger wedding breakfasts (over 50 guests) take
place in our Great Hall.
