PH Sporting

Founded in 1994 by Naworth Castle Estate owner, Philip Howard, PH Sporting is a renowned provider of country pursuits in Cumbria, specialising in pheasant and partridge shooting. We have a custom-made clay pigeon layout within the castle grounds, and friendly, expert tuition is available, by prior request.

Also within easy reach of the main house is our beautiful Jubilee Lake, well stocked with rainbow trout.
The castle itself dates back to the 14th century, while the estate comprises glorious mature woodland, steeply wooded ravines, rolling parkland and some stunning lake and riverside drives. All areas are accessible with 4x4 vehicles.
Guests are welcome to bring their own firearms, but, if required, we are able to supply 12 bore, 20 bore and, for specialist days, black powder guns with cartridges.
